Diversity Task Force
Task Force Mission
The Dayton Area Chapter’s Strategic Plan drove the Task Force’s expansion both in community outreach and in membership. Strategic Direction #2 states that the Chapter will “Inspire a new generation of volunteers and supporters to enrich our traditional base of support.” This includes a specific goal that commits the Chapter to “Increase diversity of volunteer workforce.”
Additionally, the Board of Directors and the Associate Board now have stronger ties to diversity efforts, which increased stakeholder ownership. This naturally led to a review of the Diversity Task Force Mission Statement that, after much discussion, remained unchanged:
The Diversity Task Force provides leadership and accountability of the Chapter’s Diversity initiatives within and across lines of service and functional areas.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality of service by promoting an organizational culture that values diversity and adheres to our Fundamental Principles.
The Task Force is designed to involve all aspects of Chapter operations. Every department is represented. The designated Liaison reports activities at the monthly Board meeting.
