Tom Fodor, MSB, CFRE
Chief Executive Officer, Dayton Chapter, American Red Cross
Tom Fodor oversees a multi-million dollar operation that serves nine Ohio and two Indiana counties. He returned to his native Ohio when he succeeded Joe Lambright as the Dayton Area Chapter Chief Executive Officer in December 2004, after a five year stint as the Northern New England Salvation Army’s Regional Development Director.
During his Red Cross tenure, the Dayton Area Chapter has been twice recognized as a Highly Performing Chapter, a national standard acknowledging superior service delivery and fiscal stewardship. The Chapter also received the 2005 Not for Profit Organization of the Year Award, as presented by the Dayton Business Journal. Tom served as state lead for the 2008 American Red Cross Disaster Relief campaign and on the 2006-2007 National Red Cross Strategic Fundraising Assessment and Design Teams. He is currently Vice Chair of Wright State’s American Humanics Community Council, and has twice served as Partner Agency Co-Chair for the United Way of the Greater Dayton Region’s annual Campaign. He is a member of the Leadership Dayton Class of 2009. A 1978 Kent State graduate, Tom attained his Masters of Science in Business Degree from Husson College in 1998, and received his Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2000. He lives in Springboro with Karen, a medical technologist and his wife of 29 years. They have two children, Veronica and Drew, who are non-profit and marketing professionals, respectively.
